HOUSTON, June 19 -- Shell Exploration & Production Co., New Orleans, said Tuesday a subsea production system called Einset is being developed in the Gulf of Mexico in 3,500 ft of water.
Einset is a one-well project 170 miles southeast of New Orleans in Viosca Knoll Block 872. It will tie back to Shell's SE Tahoe subsea manifold in Viosca Knoll 784, which carries production 12 miles to Shell's Bud Lite platform.
Steve Sears, manager of subsea development, said Einset's production is slated for February.
Einset will develop resources from Viosca Knoll Blocks 872 and 873, acquired by Shell in March 1998. Shell will operate Einset with a50% stake; Dominion Exploration & Production Inc., Richmond, Va., holds the rest.
The project is expected to recover more than 30 bcf of gas with peak production rates up to 60 MMcfd.
