HOUSTON, June 29 -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co. has awarded Technip SA a lump sum, turnkey contract for the installation of a 100 MMscfd natural gas liquids compression train and associated facilities in an existing Abqaiq plant.

The installation will replace existing facilities.

The train will be an addition to an existing train also built by Technip as part of the Shaybah oil field development that was completed in 1999.

Other facilities will include a heat recovery system for the existing and new train; a primary flare fed by new flare lines running through the Abqaiq facilities to the existing flare lines; and an expanded control system.

Technip will start work in July and complete the project in mid-2003.
