LONDON, June 14 -- Trinidad East Coast Marine Area partners BG Trinidad & Tobago Ltd. and Texaco Trinidad Inc. Thursday awarded Wood Group company JP Kenny Inc. the contract to carry out front end engineering design for offshore development Dolphin Deep.

A JP Kenny team, based in Houston, will be charged with developing Dolphin Deep field using subsea completion technology and capacity upgrades to the existing Dolphin platform, as part of operator BG's plans to explore methods of expanding gas production from ECMA.

According to the pipeline and subsea engineering contractor, the project will mark the first use of subsea well technology off Trinidad.

Rick Hill, president of JP Kenny, called the contract "a significant achievement," because it is the second subsea project award to the company in as many months.

In addition to work on ECMA, JP Kenny is providing engineering and construction management for the largest pipeline project in Trinidad, BP PLC's 48-in. Bombax pipeline scheduled for installation next year.
