Gryphon tieback in UK North Sea awarded to Halliburton

Kerr-McGee North Sea UK Ltd. has awarded a $3 million contract to Halliburton Subsea, a unit of Halliburton Co., Dallas, for the installation, testing, and precommissioning of subsea facilities for a step-out well from Gryphon field on block 9/18 in the UK North Sea.

HOUSTON, June 15 -- Kerr-McGee North Sea UK Ltd. has awarded a $3 million contract to Halliburton Subsea, a unit of Halliburton Co., Dallas, for the installation, testing, and precommissioning of subsea facilities for a step-out well from Gryphon field on block 9/18 in the UK North Sea.

The well is 1,800 m southwest of the existing Gryphon cluster.

The project will include the installation, testing, and precommissioning of subsea facilities of a single production well.

That includes the installation and tieback of a 6-in. flexible production line and the installation of an associated direct hydraulic umbilical and gas lift line, plus a protection frame around the well.

Installation is planned in the third quarter.
