Enserco, Kuukpik form JV for Alaska drilling

HOUSTON, June 4 -- Enserco Energy Service Co. Inc., Calgary, and Kuukpik Corp., an Alaskan First Nations company, have formed a joint venture to provide exploration and development drilling services in Alaska.

Enserco was previously known as Bonus Resource Services Corp. (OGJ Online, May 14, 2001). Through subsidiaries Bonus Well Servicing Partnership and H&R Drilling LP, Enserco operates more than 200 service rigs and 28 drilling rigs.

The joint venture will construct drilling rigs and deploy them on the North Slope and other areas in Alaska.

Enserco said an unnamed major has signed a 1-year contract to deploy a rig in the Cook Inlet exploration area by June 15.
