HOUSTON, June 25 -- Apache Corp., Houston, said it recently has participated in five discoveries on the US Continental Shelf in the Gulf of Mexico.

Two dual-zone new fault discovery wells on Grand Island Block 33 are expected to come on stream in early August, said Apache, at a combined flow rate of 13.3 MMcfd of gas and 1,160 b/d of liquid hydrocarbons.

Those wells will be tied into existing production facilities on the block.

A new fault discovery on North Padre Island Block A-12 will come on stream in the fourth quarter at 10 MMcfd of gas.

On South Timbalier Block 295, two discoveries recently came on production at 2.2 MMcfd of gas and 1,848 b/d of oil. They were sidetracked from an existing platform. Apache is drilling a third well at the same location.

Apache also said it participated in 13 development wells. They are on West Delta 103, West Delta 105, West Cameron 144, Grand Island 48, Vermilion 370, West Delta 70, and West Delta 94.

Apache said it ranks fourth among shelf producers with current net production of 345 MMcfd of natural gas and 34,000 b/d of oil.

Apache expects its Gulf of Mexico operations to contribute $400 million in cash flow during the first half.
