BANGKOK, May 14 -- Harrods Natural Resources Inc., a firm owned by Harrods department store magnate Mohammed Al Fayed, has offered to sell stakes in its petroleum prospecting licenses off Thailand.

The company, through its subsidiary Harrods Energy (Thailand) Ltd., has been soliciting interest from most of the oil prospecting firms active in Thailand.

Harrods has drilled as many as 20 wells in its four wholly owned blocks in the Gulf of Thailand -- B2/38, B5/27, B11/38, and B12/32.

Harrods has applied for an oil production license over a 40 sq km area in B5/27.

Block B12/32 is near the PTT Exploration & Production PLC-operated Bongkot field, which is producing 635 MMcfd and 15,000-16,000 b/d of condensate (OGJ Online, Apr 27, 2001).
