Canada to review TransCanada tariffs

Canada's National Energy Board (NEB) has requested comments from interested parties on a 2001-2002 tolls and tariffs application by TransCanada Pipelines Ltd.

CALGARY, May 10 -- Canada's National Energy Board (NEB) has requested comments from interested parties on a 2001-2002 tolls and tariffs application by TransCanada Pipelines Ltd.

The application is based on a terms of a Mainline Service and Pricing Settlement between the pipeline company and its customers, excluding cost of capital issues.

The NEB said the comment period expires May 23, and TransCanada has until May 29 to file reply comments.

The NEB said it will decide on the appropriate course of action for completing examination of the application after it considers comments received.

TransCanada operates a large-diameter natural gas pipeline to markets in central Canada and the US.
