HOUSTON, May 8 -- BC Gas Utility Ltd., Vancouver, BC, has called an open season for interested parties on its proposed $495 million (Can.) Inland Pacific Connector Pipeline.
The line would connect the Southern Crossing Pipeline in Oliver, BC, to a regional marketing hub and border crossing at Huntingdon.
BC Gas said it hopes to have the 153-mile line in service by late 2003, subject to regulatory approvals.
Rich Ballantyne, BC Gas director of transmission and project development, said the open season will help determine the demand for additional natural gas in the BC Lower Mainland and US Pacific Northwest.
He said the line will increase the supply of gas to the Lower Mainland and help prevent the dramatic price increases experienced last winter.
