LONDON, Apr. 13--The lead FPSO contractor for the Husky Oil Operations Ltd.-PetroCanada White Rose development off the east coast of Canada has entered the final tender phase for the vessel's topside production facilities.

Operator Husky said Thursday that Maersk Contractors Newfoundland Ltd., the primary FPSO engineering design contractor for White Rose, had whittled down the list of bidders for the work to two -- Aker Maritime Kiewit Contractors and Single Buoy Moorings Inc. The facilities for the floater include oil, gas, and water production equipment that will be integrated with the vessel's hull.

AMKC has been advised to refine the costs of a topsides fabrication and integration lump-sum bid, a process expected to be complete by the third quarter, while SBM, which as already submitted a lump-sum tender, will hold open its bid until Oct. 1.

White Rose, located 350 km east of Newfoundland in 115-130 m of water, is thought to hold recoverable reserves in the region of 230 million bbl in its South Avalon pool. Production of the oil field could begin in 2003-2004.
