Talisman selects Asco to provide marine services

Talisman Energy UK Ltd. has selected UK logistics provider Asco PLC to provide marine and quayside services to support its North Sea assets for 5 years. The "multimillion pound" contract will double the annual cargo tonnage Asco handles for Talisman at its Peterhead Bay supply base, said Asco.

�Talisman Energy UK Ltd. has selected UK logistics provider Asco PLC to provide marine and quayside services to support its North Sea assets for 5 years.

The "multimillion pound" contract will double the annual cargo tonnage Asco handles for Talisman at its Peterhead Bay supply base, said Asco.

Logistics operations for Piper B, Claymore, Saltire, Tartan, Beatrice, Buchan, Ross, and Clyde will start Apr. 1.

Steve Marples, Asco's chief operating officer in Europe, noted that this contract built on a relationship that has been running since 1997 on Talisman's Beatrice, Buchan, and Ross fields.

Talisman Energy Gen. Manager Paul Blakeley said the signing aimed to bring "a consolidated approach to (its) North Sea logistics operations in the drive to achieve grater efficiencies in the supply chain."
