Snamprogetti lands gas oil separation plant deal

Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has awarded ENI SPA's engineering and main contracting arm Snamprogetti a $140 million turnkey contract to build a gas oil separation plant in Haradh, Saudi Arabia. The workscope covers detailed design, material procurement, construction, precommissioning, and commissioning assistance for the plant.

LONDON, Mar. 6� Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has awarded ENI SPA's engineering and main contracting arm Snamprogetti a $140 million turnkey contract to build a gas oil separation plant in Haradh, Saudi Arabia.

The workscope covers detailed design, material procurement, construction, precommissioning, and commissioning assistance for the plant. The new facility, designed for gas and oil separation, water injection, dehydration, and salt removal from oil, would provide additional production capacity for oil fields in the eastern province of the kingdom, said ENI.

The construction project is scheduled for completion by April 2003.

Snamprogetti's most recent work in Saudia Arabia was a turnkey project for the design, procurement, and construction of a 56-in., 204 km gas pipeline for Saudi Aramco.
