Oceaneering International's FPSO to work 7 years for Angola Drilling Co.

Angola Drilling Co. Ltd. has issued a letter of intent to Oceaneering International Inc. to charter the Ocean Producer, a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, to produce from the Canuku area off Angola. The FPSO has spent 9.5 years working off West Africa. The new charter is for 7 years.

HOUSTON, Mar. 27�Angola Drilling Co. Ltd. has issued a letter of intent to Oceaneering International Inc. to charter the Ocean Producer, a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, to produce from the Canuku area off Angola.

ADC has a letter of intent from Sonangol Pesquisa and Producao, S.A.R.L. to develop and produce the Canuku area.

The Ocean Producer will finish a 7-year contract in April with Sonangol Pesquisa and Producao. Under that contract, the FPSO produced more than 12 million bbl of oil from Kiabo field in Block 4.

The Ocean Producer will be moved to a shipyard for modification, life extension, and repair as required for the Canuku area of Block 3, where production is slated to start early in the third quarter. The ADC contract is for 7 years.

Bruce Crager, Oceaneering International senior vice-president, said, "We are pleased to establish an association with ADC, which allows us to continue our relationship with Sonangol by providing our production unit to produce their fields.''

The Ocean Producer has spent 9.5 years working off West Africa.
