HOUSTON, Mar. 23Northwest Natural Gas Co. (NW Natural) has applied to an Oregon state council for permission to build a 60-mile gas transmission line.
The proposed 24-in. pipeline would connect NW Natural's gas storage fields near Mist, Ore., with an interstate gas transmission line near Molalla.
The proposed route will connect with an earlier phase of the Mist system near North Plains in Washington County and cross western Washington County, a small portion of Marion County, and end up at the Williams Pipeline gate station near Molalla in Clackamas County.
The proposed line, dubbed South Mist Pipeline Extension, will improve the company's capability to serve the Portland area, said NW Natural.
The Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council will conduct a year-long public review.
