Tyumen Oil subsidiary to develop new discoveries

Tyumen Oil Co. said its newly formed subsidiary TNK-Uvat will develop the Kalchinskoye, Irtyshskoye, and Yuzhno-Pikhtovoye oil deposits in Western Siberia under a production-sharing agreement.

HOUSTON, Feb. 14
�Tyumen Oil Co. said its newly formed subsidiary TNK-Uvat will develop the Kalchinskoye, Irtyshskoye, and Yuzhno-Pikhtovoye oil deposits in Western Siberia under a production-sharing agreement.

Tyumen Oil holds 99.7% of the firm, formed Dec. 27. Other shareholders are SINCO, Novosibgeologya, and Tyumenneftegas, each of which holds 0.1%.

A seismic survey is now in progress.

Tyumen Oil claims proven reserves in the three sites are nearly 100 million tonnes. It says Kalchinskoye holds 93 million tonnes, Irtishskoye holds 5.3 million tonnes, and Yuzhno-Pikhtovoye holds 400,000 tonnes.

After finalizing the PSA, TNK-Uvat will explore the southern portion of the region.
