Technip, Yukos to jointly develop some projects

French company Technip SA's German unit and an arm of giant Russian company Yukos have signed an agreement to jointly develop selected projects. Technip will provide services and supplies related to field production, field processing, and transportation facilities for projects undertaken by NK Yukos.

PARIS, Feb. 5�French company Technip SA's German unit and an arm of giant Russian company Yukos have signed an agreement to jointly develop selected projects.

Technip will provide services and supplies related to field production, field processing, and transportation facilities for projects undertaken by NK Yukos.

The first application of the alliance will concern surface facilities and pipeline systems in the Tomsk region of Siberia, where Yukos is planning to increase field production, improve productivity of the facilities, and adapt them to international standards.

Chairman and CEO of Technip Daniel Valot said: "Our intention is to build a long-lasting cooperation with Yukos. For Technip, this alliance agreement with a major Russian company is an exciting breakthrough in the fast-growing oil and gas market in Russia."

Technip has been active in Russia for more than 40 years. It has an engineering base in Saint Petersburg with a staff of 150 people.
