Berkley Petroleum Corp., Calgary, has begun production from Berkley No. 1 deep natural gas well in the East Lost Hills region of California�s San Joaquin Valley. The well was producing 9.6 MMcfd. Berkley expected output to reach 13 MMcfd within days and then increase to 20 MMcfd. Berkley operates and has a 23% interest in the East Lost Hills project

Canadian Blackhawk Energy Inc., Calgary, plans to re-enter and horizontally drill a well on its Crossfield project in central Alberta. It hopes to complete it as a producing Wabamun gas well. It will evaluate the basal quartz and Viking formations too.

Infinity Inc., Chanute, Kan., completed the first two wells in its Pipeline coalbed methane project in the Green River basin of Wyoming. The first well reached 2,898 ft while the second well, a half mile away, reached target depth of 3,154 ft. Infinity said both wells had "significant" gas flows.

Allegro Investments Inc. completed the Hensley-Johnny No. 1 in Jackson County, Tex., for 1.3-1.5 MMcfd from the lower Frio at 9,181-9,186 ft. TD was 9,450 ft. Other partners are Parallel Petroleum Corp., Beta Oil & Gas Inc., Pease Oil & Gas Co., and private investors.
