The Canadian National Energy Board plans a public hearing Jan. 31 in Calgary on Murphy Canada Exploration Ltd.'s application to build a $4.3-million, 10.3-mile pipeline loop. The 12-in. line would extend between the Pioneer Natural Resources Canada Ltd. facilities in the Chinchaga area of northern British Columbia to Pioneer's compressor station 80 miles northwest of Manning, Alta. Completion would be Mar. 15.
Gateway Energy Corp. affiliate Gateway Offshore Pipeline Co. has agreed to transport production from Whiting Petroleum Corp.'s High Island Block 98-L lease off Texas through its Shipwreck Gathering System to Gateway's terminal near Crystal Beach, Tex. Gateway will provide separation, dehydration, and storage services for Whiting at the terminal.
Viking Gas Transmission Co., St. Paul, Minn., has applied to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to expand its system in northwestern Minnesota. The company asked FERC to approve construction of 5.6 miles of 24-in. pipe to loop the mainline in Kittson County. The line would extend from the Minnesota/Manitoba border to a Viking Gas compressor station near Humboldt. If approved, construction on the $3.9 million project will begin this summer and the line will be in service this fall.
