Aker Maritime, as contractor for BP's Valhall water injection platform in the Norwegian North Sea, has awarded Dresser-Rand, an affiliate of Halliburton Co., a contract to supply gas turbine power generation packages. Dresser-Rand will provide two 22-Mw units. They will be delivered by the end of November.

Global Divers & Contractors, a division of Global Industries Offshore LLC, Houston, said it installed a 16-in. "I" tube at the Auger tension leg platform on Garden Banks block 426 in December for Shell Exploration & Production Co. The tube was welded to one of Auger's four, 74-ft diameter columns to protect and support the control umbilical for Shell's Serrano and Oregano subsea developments, which will be tied back to Auger this year.

Comstock Resources Inc. began production from three wells in the South Pelto-South Timbalier area of the Gulf of Mexico. The OCS-G 12027 No. 6 on South Pelto Block 5 is producing at 21.5 MMcfd of gas and 892 b/d of condensate. The OCS-G 13925 No. 2 on South Timbalier Block 11 is producing 22.9 MMcfd of gas and 320 b/d of condensate. OCS-G 12027 No. 5 on South Pelto Block 5 is producing 28.4 MMcfd of gas and 925 b/d of condensate. Comstock has a 25% working interest in the two South Pelto 5 wells and a 33% working interest in the South Timbalier 11 well.
