Promax Energy Inc., Calgary, has expanded its producing facilities in Cessford, Alta., with the commissioning of a gas processing plant.
The station, at 6-14-24-10 W4M, consists of a 20 MMcfd inlet separator, 10 MMcfd compressor, dehydrator, and hydrocarbon dewpoint control unit. Three additional 10 MMcfd compressor dehydration trains can be added later.
Promax said an expansion of an additional 10 MMcfd compressor is scheduled for completion by Mar. 1, giving it capacity for 20 MMcfd through its own facilities and 5 MMcfd through a third party facility.
Promax said gas sales can be made directly to TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. (formerly Nova); through this facility, through the third party processing facility, or through both.
The company said it has spent $8.3 million (Can.) for gas gathering and processing infrastructure in 2000.
With the completion of this portion of the Cessford plant, its net production is forecast to increase from 700 boed to 1,650.
Promax is an exploration and production company focusing primarily on gas in the Cessford area of southeastern Alberta. It owns or controls 250 sections of leases and operates 115 km of gas gathering system.
