Prices for oil futures fell in international trade Thursday, pulling down most energy commodities.
The February contract for benchmark US light, sweet crudes dropped 62� to $25.85/bbl on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while the March contract lost 56� to $25.30/bbl.
Home heating oil for January delivery fell by 4.25� to 89.46�/gal, wiping out the previous day�s gain. But unleaded gasoline for the same month inched up 0.19� to 75.53�/gal, recouping some of its previous loss.
The January contract for natural gas lost 2.3� to $9.263/Mcf, giving back some of Wednesday�s 17.3� gain.
On the International Petroleum Exchange in London, North Sea Brent crude lost 33� to $23.71/bbl, offsetting most of its gain from the previous session. The January natural gas contract dropped 7� to the equivalent of $4.33/Mcf, giving back much of its previous gain.
