LONDON�UK independent Enterprise Oil PLC has completed testing of the Gamma gas well in the Barents Sea off Norway.
The well, located in 190 m of waster on block 7019/1, was drilled to a TD of 2,979 m, discovering gas in sandstones of early Cretaceous and Jurassic ages. Enterprise's partners are Norsk Agip AS, Statoil AS, and Fortum Oil & Gas AS,
Enterprise was evaluating data to determine a future work program for the licence (PL-201).
Meanwhile, Enterprise said the well ended its Norwegian drilling program for the year. Six of the seven wells completed with Enterprise's involvement in 2000 encountered hydrocarbons.
The wells at Snadd, Svale, and Falk, the independent noted, have "underlined the potential of the Skarv-Idun-Norne trend."
