Jorge Chamot, Peru's energy and mines minister, confirmed that the tender for the transport and distribution of the Camisea natural gas and liquids concession will be held Oct. 20. The minister said he expected at least one more bidder besides the Techint SA consortium, although he did not give a name.
Aviva Petroleum Inc. has suspended its Colombian oil sales and shut in its wells. It said guerrilla attacks on the Trans-Andean pipeline, which carries Aviva's production, have left the company with no transportation.
WPS Energy Services Inc. has signed a 3-year agreement with Enbridge Gas New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick, to take EGNB's transportation capacity on the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline, which carries gas from the Sable Offshore Energy project off Nova Scotia south to New England. WPS will provide gas to end-use customers and gas marketers in New Brunswick. WPS Energy Services recently applied to the New Brunswick Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities for marketer certification and expects to deliver gas by November.
Buccaneer Gas Pipeline LLC, a joint project of Duke Energy Corp. and Williams, said Pasco County, Fla., has approved Buccaneer's landfall. The 674-mile gas pipeline will cross the Gulf of Mexico from Mobile Bay to a point just north of Tampa Bay. The company expects to receive a final US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission certificate early next year.
