Following safety and integrity checks, oil production resumed aboard the Northern Endeavour floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, Oct. 27, Woodside Energy Ltd. of Australia reported Monday. The Northern Endeavour produces oil from the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields in AC/L5 in the Timor Sea off Australia.

Production was halted for 46 hours after a fire in the vessels LPG recovery system last week, causing minor damage to cabling and instrumentation (OGJ Online, Oct. 26, 2000). It resumed Friday.

Oil production has been increased to a current flow of about 140,000 b/d and is expected to level off at about 150,000 b/d until the vessels LPG recovery system is reinstated following repairs.

The investigation process into the incident is nearing completion, Woodside reported.

Equity interests in production license AC/L5 and the Corallina oil field are Woodside Energy Ltd., 50%; BHP Petroleum (North West Shelf) Pty. Ltd., 25%; and Shell Development (Australia) Pty. Ltd., 25%. Equity interests in the Laminaria oil field are Woodside, 44.9%; BHP, 32.6%; and Shell, 22.5%.
