Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Houston, on Wednesday reported increased natural gas production from a Dew field extension well in the Bossier sand play in East Texas.


Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Houston, on Wednesday reported increased natural gas production from a field extension well in the Bossier sand play in East Texas.

Production from the Blair A-3 well, which started flowing Apr. 28, is 51.5 MMcfd at 4,500 psi flowing casing pressure. Spudded on Mar. 6 in the Dew Field, Freestone County, Tex., Blair A-3 reached a total depth of 12,885 ft on Ap. 13. Perforation and fracture stimulation operations commenced on Ap. 26.

Anadarko owns an 82.5% working interest in the well, with El Paso Production Co. owning the remainder.

Anadarko says its Bossier gas production has increased to over 195 MMcfd (gross). The company is making modifications to its Dew gathering system to accommodate this significant increase in output. It has 21 rigs in operation on the Bossier play.
