Compared to European countries, America is huge. There are two markets for NGVs in America; short haul and long haul.

NGV designs for short city journeys need different design characteristics when compared to long haul.

Short city journeys involve lots of stopping, starting and relatively low speeds for only 2 hours per day. City NGVs should ne specifically designed for this duty.

Long haul NGVs run for 8 hours per day and stop infrequently. Consequently, the design of these vehicles should be very different to the short haul NGVs.

By differentiating between the 2 design needs, NGVs can become very popular in America.

So far I am still a middle class person , but with oil prices going up , and knowing the reaction of other markets ( prices will go up on everything else, except OUR salaries ) a middle class of this great nation will disappear. Is that what Our government wants for Us. Don't you guys understand that rising prices on oil and gas will redirect the way of middle class spending. Lot's of small businesses will strugle( or even close), unemployment will skyrocket again and forclosers will multiply by millions. Is that
the future for America? Think about our children , education and how about our Seniors? I mean , what the heck , what are you guys doing in that Washington ? Weren't you elected by people for people ...Where are the regulations that would stop this game of rising oil prices with no legitimate reason.....Let's rise a price , a Volcano in Iceland is active again...........See the point ???????? It is definitely true that the Presidents request and noted direction to end the oil and gas sector is going to be a fight.

Renewables and clean energy are absolutely an imperative part of our energy and economic future. But we should not sacrifice current jobs and hinder an entire industry that is so needed in our current economy. Simply put "clean energy and renewables are good things, killing jobs and an entire industry is bad".

With President Obamas remarks about the subsidies and taxes I am not sure I agree. I don't see how it is a good thing in our economy to put additional taxes on oil and gas companies, which will just raise the prices, when we are already seeing prices rising. This is a time to cultivate our domestic resources and encourage growth, not add new economically stifling taxes and policies. I have had the chance to talk with Dr. Joseph Mason, and several of his colleagues, and his recent study shows the resulting fallout over the next ten years would include:

· Initial losses of over 154,000 jobs in 2011 alone;
· More than $341 billion in lost U.S. economic output; and
· In excess of $68 billion in lost wages nationwide.

It didn?t take long for Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee to respond to the Hastings proposal. Not too surprisingly, they didn?t like it one bit.

?As committee members and veterans of many partisan battles, we have wide experience and deep knowledge in matters that fall under our historic and current jurisdiction,? Ranking Minority Member Joe Barton (R-Tex.) and 17 other GOP Energy and Commerce members said in a Nov. 18 letter to Speaker-Elect John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Leader-Elect Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

They said that before the 23 Republicans on the committee pushed chairman Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) and other majority members this year through a 17-day health care bill markup during which 350 amendments were offered and 54 were debated, they demanded four days of markup of the global climate change bill Waxman and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), chairman of the committee?s Energy and Environment Subcommittee, cosponsored.

?Deals were offered and soundly rejected as the possibility of 300 amendments and the actual debate on 47 of them exposed the failings of the cap-and-trade scheme. Though the cap and trade bill barely passed the House, it went nowhere in the Senate, largely in part [due] to the hard work of our committee,? the letter continued.

?Our tactical, competent opposition sent resounding messages to the American people ? and they sent a resounding message back,? Barton and the other Energy and Commerce Republicans added. ?They like what we?ve done to prevent the expansion of government and to prevent the loss of additional jobs. They like what we?ve done to stand up to Nancy Pelosi?s liberal agenda. They acknowledge our work by handing us a second chance, and as we go about our Committee business we will make sure that second chance is not wasted.

?With respect, the worst possible way to answer the American people?s cry for transparency and responsibility would be to cut an inside-Washington deal that ferrets jurisdiction away from committees that have proven their moxie and sends it to committees that haven?t experienced a true partisan fight in the past two years,? the letter said. ?Transferring historic Rule X jurisdiction away from the committee that knows it and does it best is irresponsible and breaks trust with the people who gave us a second chance earlier this month. We will vote against a rules package that includes any diminution in our committee?s jurisdiction.?

The real problem for the Oil and Gas Energy operations is that we in the Industry had different names for many Tax issues and ended up behind the Proverbial "Eight Ball." The Government called it "Depreciation" and the Oil and Gas Industry called it "Depletion Allowance." The Government called it "Investment Credit" and the Oil and Gas Industry called it "Intangible Development Costs." and the worst name came from what the Government called "Dividens,The Energy Sector called it "Royalty Income." The TV show "Dallas" simply ended up as the most watched in the World as the favorite and gave everyone the sense that all Oil Field Management persons thought and acted like "J.R. Ewing," being ready to cheat everyone in any way possible. Doubt these ststements, just look it up with your web browser or "Google It!" The USA is the only Country in the world that allows someone to wake up in the middle of the night and remember they do not have any cream for their house guests' morning coffee, put on their clothes, and drive mostly very short times to a 24 hour store where they can find what ever they forgot to have already. If the newspapers started today stating that we could be short on gasoline supplies next week, we would have the same long lines at gas stations because everyone would get their 5 gallon cans and fill them up to have an emergency supply. John Denver, the Country Western Star singer buried a 10,000 (ten thousand) gallon tank on his ranch in Colorado. I know he is deceased now and I love his songs, but he was not trying to hurt anyone nor cause anyone else to be inconvienced. The point is that almost all persons living in the USA do not know how to save. We consume off the assembly line. Think of bread as an example. Most shoppers reach to the back of the bread shelves to get the latest dated loaf. If the newspapers and other media start talking about a possible gasoline shortage the same long lines would appear. The Energy Companies did not nor would not be guilty of letting oil tankers anchor just out of sight waiting for gasoline prices to rise. I'll stop before my blood pressure starts to rise. I have been a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas since Apr-1963, and have a B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University Of Texas in Austin, Texas. I have worked in the Energy Production Arena since 1955.
