The new Model T280 Series of miniature thermal-head mounted transmitters is designed for thermocouple, Pt-100 RTD, or millivolt input. Units are rated for 1,000 v dc or peak ac isolation. Transmitters have a low profile enclosure design, measuring 1.75 in. in diameter with a maximum height of 0.76 in.

Flotation Technologies (Flotec)

Biddeford, Me., has named Gerald Hart as Gulf Coast manager. Hart will manage the company's gulf activities from its new Houston facility.

Flotec, founded in 1979, designs and manufactures subsurface buoyancy and mooring products.

Compagnie Générale de Géophysique (CGG)

Paris, has appointed Christophe Pettenati-Auzière senior executive vice-president of strategy, control, and corporate planning, including corporate marketing and investor relations. Replacing Pettenati-Auzière as executive vice-president of CGG's offshore SBU is Gerry Harrison.

Pettenati-Auzière joined CGG in 1996 from Coflexip, where he served as executive vice-president. He is a graduate of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble and Insead.

Harrison was previously chairman of Aker Geo.

CGG Group is a global provider of a wide range of seismic data acquisition, processing, and geoscience services and software to the oil and gas exploration and production industries. It is also a manufacturer of geophysical equipment.

GLI International

Milwaukee, has appointed Bruce Bathurst director of technology. Bathurst joined GLI in 1995 and has served most recently as principal engineer and project leader for analyzer developments.

GLI, formerly known as Great Lakes Instruments, is a Viridor Instrumentation company and manufacturer of online water quality and process analytical instrumentation.

Cooper Energy Services (CES)

Houston, has announced plans to close its Springfield, Ohio, engine plant and suspend manufacture of its Superior gas-powered reciprocating engine product line. A specific closing date has not been set.

CES will continue to offer aftermarket parts and repair services for Superior engines through its worldwide network of service centers.

The company, a division of Cooper Cameron Corporation, will concentrate on its compressor manufacturing facilities in Oklahoma City, Ville Platte, La., and its new state-of-the-art compressor manufacturing and testing plant in Waller, Tex.

Houston, has appointed Thomas M. LaHouse president, and Scott C. Key vice-president of business development. NuTec Sciences Energy Services Division provides advanced computing solutions and services to the energy market.

LaHouse moved to NuTec from Vastar Resources, where he most recently served as chief geophysicist. Key served as deepwater reservoir development manager for Vastar Resources before joining NuTec.

PYPSA International

Houston, has named Jamie Dunlap executive vice-president, responsible for corporate development and operations. Dunlap has a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University, and more than 35 years of oil and gas industry experience.

Prior to joining PYPSA, Dunlap was vice-president of offshore services and technology for Enron Engineering & Construction Co.

PYPSA International is a division of Mexico City-based Grupo Profesional Planeacion Y Proyectors, SA de CV. The company provides engineering design, procurement, project management, and construction management to the upstream oil, gas, and pipelines industries.
