PERSONNEL MOVES AND PROMOTIONS: TotalFinaElf names officers for new US E&P unit

TotalFinaElf SA has formed an exploration and production subsidiary in the US, to be called TotalFinaElf E&P USA Inc. The unit is the result of the consolidation of the US exploration and production activities of Total Exploration Production USA Inc. and Fina Oil & Chemical Co. into Elf Exploration Inc.

The officers include: François Viaud, president; Paul Hilton, senior vice-president, offshore; Ed Nash, senior vice-president, onshore; Alain Debry, vice-president and chief financial officer; Manoelle LaPoutre, vice-president, exploration; and Thomas W. Ryan, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Other moves

Andrew K. Andraczke was appointed president and CEO of EuroGas Inc., New York. He replaces Karl Arleth, who resigned as chairman and director to pursue other interests. Andraczke has served in several positions with EuroGas since 1994, including president of EuroGas subsidiary EuroGas Polska SP ZO O. During 1972-76, he served as general manager of the computing center at Poland's Center for Geological Research in the Central Office of Geology (Ministry of Geology).

Ezra C. Hunt has been appointed, effective Feb. 26, executive vice-president and CFO of Premcor Refining Group Inc., St. Louis., Mo. Presently, Hunt serves as senior vice-president and CFO of Citgo Petroleum Corp., Tulsa.

Hunt has worked at Citgo for more than 3 years, where he was responsible for all financial and administrative support services for the unit's refining and marketing operations. Prior to that, he held the position of senior vice-president and CFO of TIG Insurance Co. Hunt also worked with ARCO for 20 years in all areas of finance, business planning, and corporate governance.

John Jackson has been promoted to the position of vice-president and CFO of Duke Energy Field Services (DEFS), Denver. Effective Feb. 21, Jackson will replace David Frederick, who will retire.

Jackson joined DEFS in April 1999 as controller after DEFS's acquisition of UPFuels. Before then, Jackson worked for 18 years at Union Pacific Resources (UPR), where he held a number of chief financial positions. At the time of UPR's initial public offering in 1995, Jackson was serving as its treasurer. He then became controller of UPR and was CFO for UPFuels until DEFS's acquisition.
