My name is Charles Laser, a wildcatter who has drilled 50 wells over the past 15 years as a one-man independent in Wyoming, Montana, Michigan, and elsewhere. I have studied the global warming issue for many years and have concluded that global warming is not an issue we should be concerned with. The evidence does not support a global-warming theory. Further, we have had numerous catastrophic global-warming periods long before man industrialized the earth, which were far more severe than the proponents advocate.
The reality is that liberals hate oil companies, believing we make great wealth. If they only knew the struggles we go through and live from hand to mouth, so to speak, in the effort to find commercial oil. The perception of the oil business is entirely wrong, and this country would not be as prosperous as we are without the risk-taking wildcatters such as myself, Michel Halbouty, or others.
It is time for the oil industry to fight back and not be intimidated by those who are uninformed or believe wealth is wrong even though most of us never make any real wealth. Let's wake up and get back to some sensibility and stop pussy footing around those liberals who would destroy an essential industry that runs the engine of our enterprise system.
