Coalbed methane well motor, pump protection device

The new RM-2000 CBM motor and pump protection remote monitoring device is specifically developed for use in coalbed methane wells.

When combined with the Model 777 MotorSaver, it becomes a complete, cost effective motor management system, the company says.

The device promises to protect pumps and motors, increase service life, extend mean time between failure, minimize downtime, lower maintenance costs, and optimize production.

This system optimizes gas production by maintaining proper pressure on the coalbed without compromising pump life. Pressure inputs allow gas production to be optimized by maintaining proper head level in the well.

Ball valve designed for process applications

A new ball valve specifically designed for process operation promises superior stem-sealing capability.

Its spherical S2 seal allows the Tufline process ball valve to compensate for any minor stem movement caused by side loading; it works like a ball joint to maintain the integrity of the stem seal even with movements of the stem because of side loading and wear of the sealing components, the firm says.

The new valve is available in one-piece flanged, two-piece flanged, and three-piece screwed, socket-welded, and butt-welded end models. For inventory economy, the one-piece and two-piece valves have interchangeable internal parts; the three-piece valve body allows for easy disassembly and maintenance.

Sizes available are 1/2 through 8 in. in ANSI class pressure ratings of 150, 300, and 600. They offer tight shutoff from high vacuum through rated pressure at temperatures of -20° F. to +450° F.

The valve's engineered and precision machined ball helps assure low operating torque, helping to ensure economical actuation through reduced seat wear and extended operating life.

Dual body gaskets are standard-a PTFE chemically inert seal and a secondary FT graphite seal. The integral ISO 5211 actuator mounting pad helps assure easy, low cost automation.

Free bulletin details diesel engine fuel injectors

A new bulletin, yours free for the asking, details ECOTIP Super Stack diesel engine fuel injectors for petrochemical and other energy related operations.

The bulletin provides research and application data on injectors with patented features that help reduce fuel use and help lower smoke and particulate matter emissions.

Data on fuel savings and emissions are presented in charts while a cutaway illustration shows how the injector creates more precise vaporization of the fuel at injection.

New drilling bit cutter

This company says its advances in polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) technology are yielding increases in wear resistance and rates of penetration (ROP), resulting in greater footage drilled, fewer bit changes, and reduced drilling costs.

Field results from wells drilled using bits equipped with the new TReX cutters show ROP increases of more than 70% and drilled-section increases of more than 50%. These numbers reflect a comparison with results from wells drilled using the same bit types but equipped with conventional cutters, the firm notes.

A new PDC material patented by the company helps keep cutters sharper without compromising toughness.

The new TReX cutter provides an ultrawear-resistant edge at the cutting surface, with no loss of impact properties, the firm says.

Outside-fitting flange protector

The new EP-310 Series outside-fitting flange protector is easy to install and remove.

It features slotted sides with tabs underneath so the part automatically slips over the flange and locks into place, protecting the face and sides of the flange. The new devices can be used to protect coated and conical bore flanges.

They come in 14 sizes to accommodate flange diameters of 3.5-16 in. The measure from the underneath tab to the inside top of the flange protector ranges from 0.56 in. to 1.18 in.

Protectors meet ANSI B 16.5 and DIN 2627-2638, are constructed of low-density polyethylene, and are available in standard yellow.
