The new TM8GPS trunk mount combines a global positioning system and mobile communications together in a system that provides the user with two-way communication capabilities and a GPS receiver.

The Micro GPSx receiver is a durable, high-quality antenna designed for excellent (27 db active) reception, allowing the user to pinpoint their location using the global satellite positioning system.

By combining the antenna with an NMO mount, the TM8GPS system can be used for a variety of two-way communication scenarios.

A nonstaining neoprene rubber cushion under the mount ensures that it will not stick to or stain a vehicle's finish. This cushion also isolates the mount against vibration, providing a firm and lasting fit to the trunk lid. Made of type 302 stainless steel, the bracket features a design that enables it to be mounted to most new high tolerance trunk lid seams.

The TM8GPS mount features a low profile design and may be easily removed for vehicle resale or fleet replacement. Stainless steel hardware is also used on every trunk mount. Users will not have any rust or corrosion to mar their vehicle's appearance. Minitrunk mounts are made entirely of nonferrous materials.

Products monitor, analyze rotating equipment

Now being marketed by Dresser-Rand are stress wave analysis products from Swantech LLC, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for early detection of damage to rotating equipment.

These products promise to identify faults well before other methods, thus helping to reduce downtime throughout the indsutry.

CMRemote, a nonintrusive remote condition monitoring system being developed by this firm, will incorporate Swantech's patented stress wave analysis technology into diagnostic software that analyzes data collected remotely from compressors and turbines. Swantech also will develop and supply the data acquisition hardware for the CMRemote system.
