Here's a new loop-powered stud mount vibration transmitter. The intrinsically safe Model 571 protects rotating and reciprocating machinery from catastrophic failure by alerting workers to increasing vibration levels.

It measures acceleration and velocity in three ranges and is reverse polarity protected. The loop-powered sensor provides a 4-20 ma dc output proportionate to vibration and offers continuous monitoring of machine vibration for predictive maintenance trending, alarm, and shutdown when it's used in conjunction with a PLC, computer, DCS, data logger, or current relays.

The 571 is easy to install and requires no calibration. A 1/4-28 tapped hole and stud are provided for mounting. The vibration transmitter is equipped with a two-pin connector and mates with a standard MIL-C-5015 two-socket connector with a boot that provides weatherproof and splashproof connection

The corrosion resistant, stainless steel sensor comes with a NEMA 4X hermetically sealed enclosure. ESD and EMI protection are ensured. The unit is also fitted with overload and reverse wiring protection. The 571 is used in pumps, motors, fans, blowers, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines. It is available for either acceleration or velocity measurement.

Portable emission analyzer

The new testo 350 is an advanced, portable emission analyzer suited for diesel, turbine, and other combustion analysis in refinery and furnace operations.

The analyzer for low NOx and CO testing has a resolution of 0.1 ppm.

High NOx and CO are handled with specially hardened sensors and an integrated sample dilution system that expands the CO testing range up to 40% concentration. Temperature controlled sensors help ensure accuracy and enhanced ambient testing conditions from 20

The smart sensors are precalibrated so that they can be quick-changed in the field. This facilitates range changes, alternative sensor configurations, and field maintenance. The internal Peltier sample conditioning and moisture removal system operates by either ac power or interchangeable nickel metal hydride battery packs.

The new analyzer controller has on-board memory for more than 250,000 values and can be remotely operated from up to 150 ft. Alternatively, computer operation is easily handled via RS 232 connections. Multiple probes can be attached to the hand-held controller to provide readings for temperature, moisture, velocity, flow, mass flow, and ma. The unit is integrated into a package that weighs 10 lb.

Filter helps produce Grade D breathable air

New Triad filters turn shop-grade compressed air into OSHA Grade D breathable air with a single multistage element. The element removes particulates, oil and oil mists, water, tastes, and odors. An optional carbon moNOxide monitor provides visual alarms if the CO content of the air rises above OSHA-specified limits.

Combining the stages in a single element helps reduce maintenance. Triad elements can be used for up to 2,000 hr in lubricated compressor systems, or up to 8,000 hr in nonlubricated compressor systems.

The GasPro+ promises to meet combustion efficiency, safety, and environmental requirements in a single, stand-alone instrument.

It monitors CO, O2, hydrocarbons, and NOx on small and medium gas-fired boilers.

The key features of this new monitor are its stand-alone nature, simple single-flange installation, fully integrated keypad and display, and the use of proved measurement technology.

The new instrument is designed to help plant operators address the issues of:

  • Verification for Credible Evidence Rule.
  • EPA CAM and periodic monitoring -accepted method for CO and NOx.
  • Monitoring and reporting nonattainment limit values on a continuous basis

This boiler control system can adjust operating parameters based upon flue gas components.
