PERSONNEL MOVES AND PROMOTIONS: Anadarko announces several senior management changes

Bill Sullivan was promoted to executive vice-president, exploration and production. He will assume responsibility for Anadarko's exploration, development, and production operations worldwide.

Since 2000, he had been vice-president, operations, for Anadarko's international, Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska units.

Sullivan joined Anadarko in 1981 and was promoted to vice-president in 1993. His numerous executive roles have included vice-president for US and Algerian operations.

Rex Alman, vice-president, domestic operations, since 1997, was promoted to senior vice president, domestic operations. He will continue to oversee Anadarko's US operations and will assume responsibility for Gulf of Mexico operations. Alman began his career with Anadarko in 1976 as an evaluation engineer. He was named vice-president in 1990.

Jim Emme was promoted from vice-president, Canada, to vice-president, exploration, and will assume responsibility for the company's worldwide exploration efforts. He will transfer from Calgary to Houston. Emme joined Anadarko in 1981 as manager of geology.

Bob Daniels was promoted from manager, onshore exploration, to vice-president, Canada. He will transfer to Calgary. Daniels jointed Anadarko in 1985 as an exploration geologist.

Bruce Stover was promoted from vice-president, worldwide business development, to senior vice-president, worldwide business development. He will continue directing Anadarko's new business initiatives.

Stover joined Anadarko in 1980 as a chief engineer. He has held various management positions, including general manager of the Algerian operations. He was named vice-president, acquisitions, in 1993.

Michael D. Cochran, vice-president, exploration, was promoted to senior vice-president, strategy and planning. Cochran joined Anadarko in 1987 as chief geophysicist and was promoted to vice-president, exploration, in 1997.

Richard J. Sharples was promoted to senior vice-president, marketing and minerals, from his previous role as vice president, planning and marketing. Sharples has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He joined Anadarko in 1992 and is former chairman of the Natural Gas Supply Association and the Natural Gas Council.

Other upstream moves

Chroma Energy Inc., Sugar Land, Tex., has named Donald R. Voelte Jr. its president and CEO. From 1997 until BP PLC's acquisition of ARCO in 2000, Voelte served as ARCO executive vice-president with responsibility for all operations and new ventures in Latin America, Europe, Russia, Central Asia, Africa. and the Middle East.

He also provided corporate oversight of ARCO Pipeline Co. and its crude oil marketing business.

Before ARCO, Voelte served 23 years with the former Mobil Corp., where his last position was president of new exploration and producing ventures.
