A new line of ampul reference materials is available for liquid calibration in hydrocarbons, sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygenates as well as others.

All materials are quality checked for accuracy and precision and are guaranteed to meet each customer's requirements.

All raw products are analyzed for purity before they are accepted into the company's blends. Each component within the standard is gravimetrically prepared on sensitive, electronic balances that are calibrated and monitored daily with masses certified traceable to N.I.S.T.

Gas chromatographic analysis verifies the final component concentrations.

Monitor detects carbon dioxide in natural gas lines

The Ultima infrared gas monitor is now available for carbon dioxide detection. The instrument offers 0-2% CO2 detection with an accuracy of ±0.1% and a T90 of under 60 sec.

It is rugged, compact, and easy to calibrate, helping suit it for use in natural gas lines, water treatment, and indoor air quality monitoring.

Its sensing element plugs into the Ultima housing, as do other sensors in the Ultima family. It offers complete calibration (without manual intervention) and a self-contained record of the latest calibration date and time. The optional autocalibration module permits permanent gas connection and calibration at designated time intervals.

Units are available for use with the Ultima Plus digital network system.

This allows for easy connection of Ultima monitors over a single communication line, reducing installation and maintenance costs. In addition, the monitors provide a local display of gas concentrations (minimum, maximum, and average), output signals and alarm indications.

A "replace sensor" indicator alerts the user to replace the plug-in sensor. Relay outputs with two alarm levels become available when the internal relay option is selected. The calibrator and controller send digitally encoded signals for nonintrusive calibration and access to advanced monitor features, eliminating the need to open the enclosure during installation, setup, or calibration

New control pinch valve

The new Series 5200 control pinch valve is designed to provide accurate, repeatable control of abrasive and corrosive slurries. The resilient elastomer sleeve produces a smooth venturi flow path.

The reinforced elastomer sleeve is the only wetted part of the valve, eliminating the need for packing, valve seats, and mechanical parts. A cone sleeve trim is most commonly used in throttling applications for tighter control and better rangeability. A choice of controls is available, including pneumatic, electropneumatic, and "smart" positioners.

A free brochure from the firm offers a full range of control valves in sizes 1-72 in. Valves feature a bidirectional seal, abrasion-resistant rubber sleeve, no crevices or dead spots, and no packing or seats to maintain. A range of elastomers allows compatibility with any material, and wear-sensing smart sleeves are available. Single acting and center line-closure designs with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric actuation are discussed.

Laser system helps position offshore vessels

CyScan, a laser-based positioning and tracking system, can be used to control or aid dynamic positioning of a range of vessels.

It provides continuous position feedback to the vessel's dynamic positioning system and to an operator display panel. It helps ensure that the retroreflective targets are continuously tracked.

The new system consists of an active rotating pulsed 16

CyScan offers a navigation position accuracy of 1 m in a range of 100 m, with even higher accuracy at shorter ranges.
