MichiganShell Exploration & Production Co., Houston, formed a joint venture with Wolverine Gas & Oil Corp., Grand Rapids, Mich., in the Pacific Creek area of southwestern Wyoming.Shell, fresh from losing out in a bid to acquire Barrett Resources Corp., Denver, and Barrett's significant Rocky Mountain properties, acquired a 70% interest in nearly 120,000 acres of mostly federal lands held by Wolverine along the Emigrant Trail.
