Houston, announced that J. Gary Whatley has joined the company as manager of project systems management.

Houston, announced that J. Gary Whatley has joined the company as manager of project systems management. Whatley has more than 30 years of experience in engineering and engineering management positions, most recently as director of engineering for ABB Lummus Global Inc.

Mustang Engineering, a member of Wood Group, specializes in design, engineering, procurement, project management, and construction management of upstream oil and gas facilities and structures, pipelines, process plants, and control and automation projects.

Lake Forest, Calif., announced that its senior vice-president, Scott E. Summers, has been elected to a 1-year term as president of the Pipe Line Contractors Association. Summers has a BS in civil engineering from Cal. Poly, San Luis Obispo, and has over 17 years of experience in the underground construction industry.

The Pipe Line Contractors Association is a nonprofit association representing major mainline pipeline construction companies in the United States. Based in Dallas, the association was founded in 1948.

Global Industries Ltd.

Houston, has named Robert E. Fulton as vice-president and treasurer, based in Carlyss, La.; and Celest B. Metuassalol as vice-president of information and communications, based in Houston.

Fulton previously served as assistant treasurer for McDermott International Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in American studies and logic from the University of Notre Dame, and a master's degree in international management and finance from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).

Metuassalol previously served as work group analyst at Koch Energy Services and as system administrator at Noble Drilling Corp. She holds a degree in management from Central Wesleyan College in South Carolina.

Global Industries provides pipeline construction, platform installation and removal, and diving services to the oil and gas industry worldwide.

Redmond, Wash., has appointed Helmut P. Adamski as chief operating officer. He previously served in executive management positions with a number of technology companies.

Adamski holds an MEng from the University of Heilbronn in Switzerland, and an MBA.

Data-Linc Group, founded in 1988, is a provider of industrial data communication solutions for a broad range of applications.

DeGolyer & MacNaughton

Dallas, has opened a Houston office to serve that region's oil and gas industry. Headed by executive vice-president James Hall, general manager Mike Black, and North America division assistant manager Jim Terracio, the office will provide a full complement of petroleum consulting services.

DeGolyer & MacNaughton, an international petroleum reservoir consulting firm, appraises oil and gas properties, evaluates petroleum and other mineral prospects, and conducts comprehensive field, deliverability, equity, supply, and economic studies.

Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue

Chicago, has announced the addition of three lawyers to its energy industry practice within the firm's business practice group. Joining the firm as partners are Peter Clarke, Robert Joseph, and Debra Schnebel.

Jones Day is an international law firm with 26 locations throughout the world.

Heartland Rig International Inc.

Dallas, moved to strengthen its market position with two alliance agreements recently. HRI acquired exclusive marketing and manufacturing rights to Parker Drilling Co.'s OIME and Parco product lines, including control of Parco's dockside New Iberia, La., facility effective July 1. From the New Iberia facility, HRI will enter the 1,500 hp+ land rig market, offshore platform rig market, and offshore coiled tubing market.

HRI also signed an agreement with Lukoil Kaleningrad to market and manufacture rigs in the former Soviet Union.

Sioux Sinnott, who currently is company president, founded HRI in 1997. Sinnott's career has encompassed work as a consultant and project manager, specializing in Russian oil and gas industry activities.

Serving as senior vice-president is Edward Jonesan. He emigrated to the US in 1991 from Baku, Azerbaijan, and worked as an engineer with Cooper Rigs before joining in the formation of HRI.

Heartland Rig International is an API certified manufacturer of mobile drilling and workover rigs, coiled tubing units, masts, substructures, rockover trailers, and environmental equipment.

Keltec Petroleum Services

Aberdeen, has established a new division to provide permanent professional staffing across a wide range of oil and gas disciplines. Named Keltec People, the division will capitalize on the industry's need for building high-quality staff with minimal time and effort. Ashley Gilray and Sharon Truscott will serve as senior recruitment advisors for Keltec People.

Keltec Petroleum Services is an international oil and gas well engineering consultancy and project management support group.

LPG Ventures Inc.

Lee's Summit, Mo., has acquired Little Dixie LPG Service, Paris, Mo. Little Dixie is involved in LP/NH3 plant design and construction through-out the US Midwest. Founder Jim Montgomery will remain with the company as head of field service operations.

LPG Ventures Inc. is a dealer of used ASME gas storage tanks, trucks, and related equipment which it markets throughout North America and the Caribbean.
