Bank of Texas Dallas, has promoted Tim Merrell to senior vice-president of its energy lending department.

Dallas, has promoted Tim Merrell to senior vice-president of its energy lending department. Merrell holds a BBA from Baylor University and an MBA from the University of North Texas. He joined the Bank of Texas in March 2000.

Turner & Townsend Group

based in the UK, has opened an office in Houston under the name of Pace Project Services which will focus on the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. This office is part of Turner & Townsend Group's planned expansion into North America.

Established in 1946, Turner & Townsend Group is an independent construction consultancy with 31 offices worldwide.

Houston, has appointed Joe D. Foster as vice-president of business development. Foster has previously served as a vice-president of Dresser Oil Tools, president and CEO of Regal International, president of Brown Oil Tools, a group president for Hughes Tool Co., vice-president of international marketing of Baker Service Tools, and vice-president of oil field marketing at Baker Hughes Inc.

The Irving Group, whose holdings include Canada's largest oil refinery, is a privately held business founded more than 100 years ago in New Brunswick. Irving Shipbuilding, a wholly owned operation within the Irving Group, is involved in shipbuilding, offshore fabrication, ship repair, and engineering services.

Cincinnati, Ohio, has appointed Eric Boltz president. He will have responsibility for both thermal processing and combustion products in the US, Europe, and Asia.

Boltz most recently served as Marathon's senior vice-president of sensor product development, and has an extensive background in the design, manufacture, and implementation of high-temperature instrumentation and sensor systems. He holds a master's degree and PhD in materials science and engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Marathon Sensors was founded in 1975 and is a manufacturer of standard and custom high-temperature probes and instruments for heat treating and combustion process applications. The company is active in 23 countries and is ISO9000 certified.

Morgan Advanced Materials & Technology

Houston, has announced the formation of Compressor Technology Group comprised of four previously separate companies: Air & Gas Sales, Morris Compressor Supply, International Polymer, and Mowll Manufacturing & Engineering. Morgan acquired the four companies and formed the new group in order to provide a single-source supplier of high-performance compressor wear components.

Morgan AM&T is part of Morgan Crucible Co. PLC Carbon Division. Morgan Crucible Co. is a producer of engineered products for a variety of industrial markets and has production facilities in 43 countries.

Steller Carson Associates LLC

San Diego, has announced that Tom Brewton has joined the firm as a partner, establishing an East Coast office in Concord, Mass. Brewton's experience is in supply chain management, manufacturing, and process design.

Steller Carson Associates is a management consultancy specializing in economic and operations analysis for the marine industry.

Colonial Pipeline Co.

Atlanta, has announced that former NTSB Chairman Jim Hall will serve Colonial in an advisory capacity on issues of pipeline safety and environmental protection. Hall served as chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board from November 1994 until January 2001, where his work included oversight of the pipeline industry.

Colonial Pipeline transports liquid petroleum products from Houston and Gulf Coast refineries to New York, serving the South and East Coast with 5,500 miles of pipeline. The company won awards from the American Petroleum Institute for occupational safety and environmental protection as well as a distinguished performance award for 2000.

GfG-Dynamation

Ann Arbor, Mich., has announced its new name, GfG Instrumentation Inc. The name change is the first of the company's efforts to position GfG as a market leader among gas detection instrumentation manufacturers.
