New Series 534HS Mini-Hermet analog pressure transmitters are suited for critical applications in harsh environments. Designed with an integral explosionproof lead seal, separate conduit seals are eliminated, reducing the total installed cost of the transmitters, the company points out. A welded stainless steel diaphragm provides a hermetically sealed process connection. Magnetically coupled, noninteractive zero and span adjustments help make the 534HS easy to calibrate while in service without compromising the explosionproof integrity of the control. Ruggedly constructed, yet compact in size, the unit can be high-density panel mounted for use on offshore platforms.

The transmitter incorporates a thin film sensor technology that promises accuracy combined with long term stability. It is available in 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, and 15,000 psi ranges with 5:1 turndown. Accuracy (nonlinearity, hysteresis, and repeatability) is ±0.25% of calibrated span. Available outputs are 4-20 ma, loop powered and 1-5 v dc. Units are FM, CSA, and CENELEC approved for use in explosionproof and intrinsically safe applications.

The firm also offers another transmitter: its CSA certified 536HS low power unit for use in Class 1, Div 1 explosionproof and intrinsically safe applications onshore and offshore. The 536HS is suited for high-density panel mounting. Its low current consumption helps suit it for use in systems that rely on batteries and solar power.

In addition to third-party approval, 2,000 and 15,000 psi ranges have been added to the previous ranges of 5,000 and 10,000 psi. The accuracy (± 0.25% of calibrated span) of its thin film sensor combined with its 5:1 turndown capability allows for measurement spans as low as 400 psi. These transmitters provide a 1-5 v dc output with current consumption less than 1.5 ma.

Free control valve handbook

A new control valve handbook is available free upon request. It details a complete product line of general and severe service control valves, which includes linear, rotary, three-way, and electric actuated versions. The handbook describes valve sizes ranging from 1/2 in. to 16 in. with pressure ratings from ANSI 125 to ANSI 4500 class.

Spec sheets are provided for each style of valve, and complete data for valve and actuator sizing are given.

Code selection charts allow you to make detailed selections of the optimum products for specific applications.

New digital seismic recording system

The new Geochain 32-satellite VSP digital seismic recording system incorporates advanced seismic receiver geophones, GSP recorder, and VSProwess software, allowing up to 32 satellites to be spaced 1-75 m apart. The array is capable of operating indefinitely in high temperature (180° C.) wells. Because it's a modular system, it's easily expandable, the company says.

Trials during February 2001 at a test site in the UK's southwest were conducted in an open hole well and were successfully completed, the firm says. Dynamite charges provided the source, and 60 levels were successfully recorded and viewed in real time by observers.

Adjustable light powered angle digital thermometer

The new, light-powered Weksler thermometer offers an environmentally friendly alternative to mercury-filled styles.

The light-powered thermometer is switchable between Fahrenheit and Celsius. It is available in a variety of ranges in a single unit (-40° to +300° F. and -40° to +150° C.). Accuracy is 1%.

The high-impact ABS case can be adjusted for viewing from any angle. Stem lengths of 31/2 in. and 6 in. are available and are interchangeable with standard mercury-in-glass industrial thermometer thermowells.

The thermometer also features a 3/8 in. LCD digital display.
