This performance reflected the surging oil price throughout much of the year.Exact figures on the number of wells completed are not available for some areas such as Russia and onshore China, where a high percentage of the world's wells were drilled. The biggest increases in drilling were reported in the former Soviet countries and Latin America, and Africa and the Far East also registered significant jumps.
