High pressure gas flare tip

The new DASS single-point, high-pressure gas flare tip for the oil and gas industry helps improve service life, reduce thermal radiation, and maximize smokeless performance.

It allows oil and gas production facilities to avoid expenses such as taller stacks, longer booms, radiation shielding, and additional utilities for smoke control, the company points out. The new design also operates dependably, resulting in fewer unscheduled shutdowns from flare tip failure, the firm says.

The test flare is designed to operate at rates up to 350 MMscfd of hydrocarbon gas at 100 psig. Data from various tests conducted at the design rate show a 30-40% reduction in flame emissivity. The flame produced is short and stable, with little or no wind lean. Tests showed a 20-25% reduction in flare boom or bridge lengths for offshore flares.

New rotator increases production tubing service life

New RODEC tubing rotators promise effective distribution of wear on the internal circumference of production tubing. Field use shows that the product helps extend tubing life by six to 10 times, the company says.

Rotators can be used on all types of applications. The patented AutoTurn drive system allows them to be operated by the rotating polished rod of a progressing cavity pump top drive system. No additional power source is necessary. For reciprocating rod pump applications, a pull chain and walking beam clamp operate the unit. Additionally, manual, electric, and hydraulic options are available.

For severe operating conditions, a high temperature, steam service tubing rotator is offered. It is capable of operating in temperatures up to 650° F. (343° C.) and pressures to 5,000 psi (35,000 kpa).

Other features include:

  • Rotators remain in place during well servicing.
  • Installation is accomplished without special tools or wellhead modifications.
  • The Rodec slip clutch prevents overtorque.
  • Rotating tubing hanger complies with API dimensions and can be run through service blowout preventer.
  • Virtually no maintenance or monitoring required.

New video system monitors crane loads

A new video system, CraneCam, monitors crane loads that are not in direct view of the crane operator.

The gravity stabilized mounting system always keeps the color video camera looking down the lift cable. The system is furnished with a zoom color camera, gravity stabilized crane head mounting system, cable, a small console, and an LCD flat monitor. The CraneCam is available in stainless steel or explosionproof systems.

Fractionation tray product bulletin

Free 16-page Product Bulletin 400, Fractionation Tray & Hardware, details a complete line of tray products and hardware.

For quick reference, customers can review the general tray classification chart, which ranks conventional tray types (sieve, valve, bubble-cap, dual-flow, side-to-side, and disk and donut), and Co-Flo as to capacity, efficiency, turndown, pressure drop, and susceptibility to corrosion and fouling.

An overview of special design features discusses available modifications, including several downcomer designs, baffles, weirs, and inlet pans. Additional drawings and photographs illustrate available valve units and the firm's line of other tray hardware.
