Lafayette, La., has promoted Jeff Sides to general manager and Mike Dupuis to assistant general manager.

Sides has a BS in computer science from the University of Southern Louisiana and will soon complete an MBA from Louisiana State University.

Dupuis has 21 years of surveying experience and has worked for C & C since the company was founded in 1992.

C & C Tech-nologies is a survey company owned by Thomas and Jimmy Chance. It has grown to become an international company with over 160 employees.

AmQuip

Bensalem, Pa., has appointed James E. Mackinson president. AmQuip founder and owner, Joseph L. Wesley, moved to position of chairman and CEO.

Prior to assuming his new position, Mackinson was president of Equipco Sales and Rental Corp., Sommerville, NJ.

AmQuip was founded in 1967 and has been a leader in the crane rental industry. With a fleet of cranes ranging from 5- through 500-ton sizes, AmQuip also offers operators, service technicians, and a major quality assurance department.

GrandBasin

Houston, an e-business venture of Halliburton Co. and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), has named Lane E. Sloan president and CEO; Larry Kaufman vice-president of development and operations; and Tina M. Sivinski vice-president of marketing, sales, and business development.

Sloan has more than 30 years of technical and executive experience, most recently as executive vice-president of SAIC's energy sector. Previously, he was CEO of Shell Chemical Co. and had served as CFO of Shell Oil.

Kaufman has previously worked for Landmark Graphics, having 12 years of experience in geocomputing engineering and management roles.

Sivinski held the position of corporate vice-president of marketing and innovation at SAIC prior to joining GrandBasin.

Founding members of the GrandBasin board of directors include Robert P. Peebler, vice-president of e-business strategy and ventures at Halliburton, as chairman; John W. Gibson, president and CEO of Landmark Graphics, a Halliburton subsidiary, as a director; and James A. McCall, Jr., senior group vice-president and global oil and gas practice leader at SAIC, also a director.

GrandBasin's e-workspace will give E&P companies the power to e-source their technical geocomputing operations, leverage internet tech-nologies to improve inter- and intra-company collaboration, expedite critical decision making, transform upstream operational processes, reduce IT infrastructure costs, better manage risks, and increase earnings.

Halliburton, founded in 1919, is one of the the world's largest provider of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries.

SAIC is among the largest employee-owned research and engineering companies in the US, providing information technology, systems integration, and e-business products and services.

Fairfax, Va., has named John Holcomb vice-president of its fuels consulting practice. Holcomb will lead Pace's Houston office, working to expand the company's involvement in energy asset development projects across Texas, the southwest US, Mexico, and Central and South America.

Holcomb has a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Houston. With over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas business, Holcomb has held positions with Tenneco Energy Co., Channel Industries Gas Co., and Fina Natural Gas Co.

Pace Global Energy Services was founded in 1979 as an independent energy management and consulting firm that helps companies buy, sell, transport, and invest in energy.

UOP LLC

Des Plaines, Ill., has named Carlos Cabrera senior vice-president of refining and petrochemicals, combining these previously separate business units into one.

Cabrera has been with UOP since 1973, most recently as vice-president for business development and ventures. He previously served as vice-president for refining.

UOP LLC is a leading international supplier and licensor of process technology, catalysts, adsorbents, process plants, and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, and gas processing industries.

Quest Technologies, Inc.

Oconomowoc, Wisc., has appointed Jim Banach, vice-president of operations; Cliff Wolcott, vice-president of market-ing; and Mark Mazzo, vice-president and general manager of Rochester Technical Center.

Banach has been with Quest 15 years. He holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an MBA from the Keller School.

Wolcott joined Quest when it acquired Metrosonics. He has over 20 years of experience in the instru-mentation field, including 13 years with Orr Safety Corporation.

Mazzo also joined Quest with its acquisition of Metrosonics. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from Simon School of Business.
