Alliance Engineering Inc., Houston, Tex., has been acquired by Wood Group Engineering Ltd., Aberdeen, Scotland.

Alliance Engineering has extensive domestic and international experience both onshore and offshore. The company has created a successful niche in adapting conventional technologies and design practices resulting in innovative lightweight topsides facilities.

The acquisition will enable Wood Group Engineering to offer Gulf of Mexico engineering solutions to North Sea clients, in support of marginal field developments. Wood Group's global expertise broadens the scope of Alliance Engineering, and strengthens the range of engineering skills offered to clients worldwide.

Alliance Engineering was founded in 1993 as an engineering company serving the oil and gas industry. The company provides design and engineering services for onshore and offshore pipeline and production facilities, including conceptual engineering, preliminary engineering, detailed engineering, project and construction management, procurement and commissioning services.

Wood Group is an international energy service company. Their business is to serve the oil and gas, power generation, petrochemical, and aviation industries around the world. They have three business groups: Engineering & Operations Support, Petroleum Services and Gas Turbines. Alliance is in the Engineering and Operations Support Group.

Applied Terravision Systems Inc. (ATS) has purchased PetroComp Systems, a division of TexSYS Corp., a private company based in Dallas. PetroComp Systems is a Houston provider of integrated financial and operation system software.

Larry Youngblood, president of PetroComp, will remain as vice president of PetroComp Systems Group under the direction of David Orr, senior vice president of Applied Terravision Systems USA.

ATS will become a reseller of Solomon software, which will add to the cross-industry e-business solutions the company will offer to the clients of its core customers. Also, PetroComp software's economics module will be integrated into ATS' popular Preview system.

Applied Terravision Systems provides mission-critical e-business information solutions that effectively manage the complex ownership of revenue-producing assets for blue-chip and small-business organizations in the government and private sectors around the globe. ATS increases client productivity with a robust suite of integrated financial accounting and asset ownership software and services that effectively manage financial and associated geospatial assets.

ADB Systems (ADB) has acquired the Consulting Services division of Bonner & Moore Associates, Inc., including COMPASS its Enterprise Asset Management software system. The division will become part of ADB's operations in Houston.

The Bonner & Moore Consulting Services' customer base is geographically diverse, with installations in the US, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. The functionality in ADB's client/server system WorkMateRegistered matches closely that of Bonner & Moore's COMPASS. In addition, WorkMateRegistered offers an e-commerce module. As a result of the acquisition, ADB will present COMPASS customers with a cost-effective upgrade path to the WorkMateRegistered system.

Nickles Industrial Manufacturing Corp., Ponca City, Okla., has purchased D-Mec Compression Services.

D-Mec, Mineral Wells, Tex., is a diversified service company for the natural gas compression market. D-Mec operations include a variety of "off-the-shelf" sales to local customers, repair services (compressor valve, packing case and related compressor items), oil and water pumps, air starter motors, ignition system testing, lubrication system testing, in-shop, in-field and off-shore overhaul of compressors, and the leasing of field compressor units for gas gathering applications. D-Mec was founded in 1985 by Lewis Daniel; Daniel will remain with the company in his present capacity of field service project manager.
