In general, I appreciate the articles in Oil & Gas Journal.I read with interest "Improving viability of renewable energy beckons petroleum firms' investment" (OGJ, Dec. 13, 1999, p. 127), although I regret that there was no mention in your article of geothermal energy.Not only has geothermal energy been exploited for decades in Italy, Iceland, New Zealand, and California, and to a lesser extent in several other countries, but it has close connections with the oil industry.
