GRI, Chicago, Ill., has named Chris Duhon vice president and general manager of GRI's Pipeline Business Unit.

GRI, Chicago, Ill., has named Chris Duhon vice president and general manager of GRI's Pipeline Business Unit.

Duhon will direct the financial, operational and administrative activities of the business unit, which serves natural gas pipelines and their customers. His responsibilities will include developing, marketing and selling a GRI technology and product portfolio that improves pipeline operations and provides new services, while generating new research, development and commercialization revenue for GRI.

Duhon has nearly 20 years of experience in the domestic and international natural gas and oil business. In his most recent position, he was president of Additech Inc., a privately held startup company that developed and commercialized a computer-based fuel additive dispensing system for the gasoline retail industry.

Duhon began his career at Houston-based Tenneco Oil E&P in 1981 and served in various engineering positions in the Gulf Coast onshore and offshore areas. He later transferred to Tenneco Gas where he worked on a range of strategic and commercial development projects before being named manager of market strategy for the company's domestic regulated pipeline network.

In 1990, Duhon was named assistant to the chairman of Tenneco and was a key member of an executive team that provided oversight of the company's business segment and corporate restructuring activities. He moved to Tenneco Gas in 1993 and served briefly as vice president, strategy, before being promoted to president of Tenneco Gas International.

GRI manages a research, development and commercialization program that benefits the entire natural gas industry and its customers, as well as targeted RD&C efforts in partnership with individual organizations and consortia. GRI technologies improve the competitiveness of natural gas and provide cost savings and other benefits for customers.
