Houston, has named Kevin Fisher vice-president of business development. Pinnacle provides engineering consulting services, fracture design software, and field mapping for hydraulic fracturing optimization. The company has offices in Houston, San Francisco, Bakersfield, Calif., and Delft, the Netherlands.

Emerson Electric Co.

Clayton, Mo., announced the formation of Emerson Valve Automation, a new operating division that consolidates the company's valve automation products and services. The new division brings together Bettis Actuators & Controls, El-0-Matic International, and Bettis subsidiaries Hytork International, Shafer Valve Operating Systems, and Dantorque.

Ram R. Krishnan has been named vice-president marketing and business development. The new division will be headquartered in St. Louis and will focus on providing valve automation products and services.

Emerson Valve Automation is a provider of pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and gas hydraulic valve automation products and services.

ABB Group and Schlumberger Oilfield Services

Houston, announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a joint venture aimed at improving the economics of subsea oil and gas development. This includes the development of the new technologies and services that will be needed in hydrocarbon production from the reservoir to the delivery point-whether on a platform, ship or directly to shore.

The worldwide joint venture will offer new technology for deepwater and offshore assets based on a risk-reward business model.

Schlumberger Oilfield Services, a business segment of Schlumberger Ltd., is a supplier of services and technology to the international petroleum industry and operates offices, service locations, and research and development facilities around the world.
