Dual-containment tanks address the need for reducing benzene emissions from glycol dehydrators. The tanks shown in the photos were developed by Tank Safe in Alberta. Its new design, "DualTank", allows for water vapor as well as toxic emissions such as benzene to be condensed and then stored in the tank.

Tank Safe says testing of on-site operational units for the new design shows a 98% reduction in benzene emissions, with an 88% overall average reduction. It found that total condensed liquids recovered included an average of 41% saleable condensate and that noxious odors and visible plumes associated with glycol dehydrators were virtually eliminated.
