Houston, has named Karl Bartholomew president. Bartholomew's experience with Pace Consultants includes directing assignments in the fields of process design, computer simulation development, economic analysis, and facilities valuation. He was also a vice-president and served as manager of design for implementation of Pace-CTR and Olefins Database electronic service. Most recently, he headed the company's petroleum coke and residual upgrading group.
Bartholomew holds an MBA from Houston Baptist University and a BS in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Bloominton, Minn., has named John R. Sutton CEO and William F. Fuller as executive vice-president, business development. Mark Senn will continue as president and COO.
Sutton is currently president/CEO of the Value Group, a company specializing in growth management, merger/acquisition integration, and investment in medical technology and industrial products companies. He has held executive positions within Andersen Consulting, Grant Thornton, and the early stages of Republic Industries.
Fuller has experience in domestic/international business development, strategic alliances, and merger/acquisition integration. He has held executive positions with the Value Group, Novartis, Grant Thornton, Pentair Corp., Apogee Enterprises, and Republic Industries.
XOX Corp. (pronounced "zocks") designs, develops, and markets proprietary software for creating virtual mock-ups or models within the computer that capture the complete geometry of objects or spatial areas of interest.
Shaw Group Inc.
Baton Rouge, La., has named Walter R. Rhodes executive vice-president. Rhodes' primary responsibilities will include acquisition management, procurement, and strategic alliances.
Rhodes has an MBA in international business from UCLA.
Previously, Rhodes served as manager of strategic alliances for General Electric's (GE) aerospace group, general manager of GE's power systems and industrial systems, and as director of contractual alliances for Motorola.
The Shaw Group Inc. is a supplier of fabricated piping systems and services. Shaw also offers engineering and design, pipe fabrication, construction and maintenance services, and the manufacture of specialty pipe fittings and supports to the power generation, crude oil refining, chemical and petrochemical processing, and oil and gas exploration and production industries.
Veritas Marine Surveys
has named Robert Hobbs vice-president-advanced exploration products. Hobbs will be responsible for the planning, quality assurance, and marketing of VMS derivative products (non-exclusive PSDM, Attribute, and Interpretive Products from data library), as well as providing exploration support to the planning of new VMS data library programs.
Previous to his assignment with VMS, Hobbs worked with Veritas Exploration Services as vice-president-exploration ventures.
Kenneth Tubman has been named vice-president and general manager of Veritas Exploration Services Division, Canadian Operations. He will be located in Calgary and be responsible for all VES activities in Canada, reporting directly to the president of VES division in Houston.
Previously, Tubman held various technical and operational positions including manager of geoscience operations for ARCO in Anchorage, Alas. He holds a PhD in geophysics from MIT.
BOC Gases
Murray Hill, N.J., has named John Walsh president, Tonnage & Applied Gas Solutions (TAGS), North America, part of the Process Gas Solutions global business. He will be responsible for BOC's tonnage and bulk gases business as well as global business development for the food, environmental, and glass market sectors. Walsh was also named to the executive management board of the BOC Group, the UK-based parent of BOC Gases.
Walsh was previously president of process plants, the engineering and construction arm of BOC Gases. Prior to that, he had been vice-president and general manager, packaged systems, responsible for the global development, design, and installation of BOC's packaged systems products. He also served terms as vice-president of both the electronics market sector and special gases product team for BOC.
Walsh, who joined BOC in 1986, holds a degree in economics from Harvard University and an MBA in finance and marketing from Harvard Business School.
BOC Gases is the industrial gases business of the BOC Group, the worldwide industrial gases, vacuum technologies, and distribution services company with operations in more than 50 countries.
J.P. Kenny
Houston, has named Chris Keevill vice-president of engineering. Keevill has joined J P Kenny's new management team to further develop the company's Houston operation by increasing exposure and market share. With more than 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry in both the US and UK, he will be responsible for all engineering groups, including pipelines, risers, subsea, and flow assurance. A chartered engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Keevill has a BSc in mechanical engineering and is a registered subsea engineer with the Society for Underwater Technology.
