PERSONNEL MOVES AND PROMOTIONS: Post-acquisition promotions reflect Anadarko restructuring

Anadarko continues to reorganize after its acquisition of Union Pacific Resources Group Inc. Just last month, Anadarko and UPR shareholders overwhelmingly approved the $4.43 billion merger (OGJ Online, July 17, 2000).

Two Anadarko Petroleum Corp. vice-presidents were recently promoted to executive positions under that company's "new organizational structure." Anadarko continues to reorganize after its acquisition of Union Pacific Resources Group Inc. Just last month, Anadarko and UPR shareholders overwhelmingly approved the $4.43 billion merger (OGJ Online, July 17, 2000).

Charles G. Manley has been promoted to executive vice-president, administration. Most recently, Manley has served as senior vice-president, administration, since 1993. Under his new position, Manley will hold responsibilities in human resources, information technology systems, purchasing and transportation, administration, government relations and public affairs, and safety and environmental affairs.

Manley started his Anadarko career in 1974 as personnel and administration manager for the former Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co., previously owned by Anadarko and now Duke Energy Corp. In 1976, he was named director of employee relations for Anadarko Production Co. In 1977, he became vice-president of administration and employee relations.

Michael E. Rose has been promoted to executive vice-president, finance. His responsibilities include accounting, finance, treasury, internal audit, marketing planning, and investor relations. Rose will continue to serve as Anadarko's CFO.

Rose started with Anadarko as chief accountant in 1978. Afterward, he was named vice-president and controller in 1986; vice-president, finance, and CFO in 1987; and senior vice-president, finance, and CFO in 1993.

In other moves within Anadarko, James J. Emme has been named vice-president, Canada. While based in Calgary, Emme will be responsible for exploration and development operations throughout Anadarko's holdings in the western provinces of Canada and in the Beaufort Sea-MacKenzie Delta region. Since joining the E&P firm in 1981, including holding chief positions within the company's exploration group, he has served as manager, offshore Gulf of Mexico and Alaska exploitation, and as manager, domestic exploitation.
