Houston, Tex., has named T. Alan Johnson project manager for marine pipeline projects. Johnson has more than 27 years' experience in marine pipeline design and construction, including deepwater, swamp and river crossing pipelines and pipeline structures. Johnson's experience includes shore approach; shallow- medium- and deepwater-survey; routing and design; marine soils investigations; and pipe/soil interaction modeling and design.
Prior to joining Paragon, Johnson was a project engineer with Kvaerner R J Brown.
Thomas F. Cross has been named manager of marine pipelines, responsible for the design and construction of subsea pipelines worldwide.
Cross's immediate responsibility includes heading up preliminary design work for Gulf of Mexico continental shelf pipelines for BP Amoco's newly announced plans for oil and gas transportation infrastructure to reach the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, where large discoveries have been made.
Cross has more than 24 years' experience in engineering, project management, engineering design and personnel development on a wide variety of pipeline projects. Prior to joining Paragon, Cross was director of engineering and construction for Williams Energy Services' Gulf Coast Area.
Roy M. White has been named senior project engineer responsible for the design/engineering of floating production systems. White has more than 27 years' experience in design, construction and commissioning of onshore and offshore process facilities, with extensive experience with mobile and floating production systems.
Prior to joining Paragon, White was a senior project engineer with PGS-Atlantic Power in Aberdeen, Scotland, providing technical support to the Ramform Banff FPSO and Texaco Galley FPS, operated by PGS. Previous experience includes FPSO and FPS conversions for Petrobras and a semisubmersible conversion in the Gulf of Mexico.

Aberdeen, UK, has announced the £20 million (NOK 250 million) acquisition of the AGR Ability Group ASA (AGR) headquartered in Bergen, Norway, subject to Norwegian legislative approval. The acquisition, which complements the PSL Group's existing technology-driven portfolio of well services, excavation, pipeline and topsides services and subsea products, also extends its specialist expertise in industrial inspection, maintenance, dredging and well services introduced by AGR. Houston, Tex., has purchased a minority share of Framo Engineering AS, an independently owned company based in Bergen, Norway, that specializes in subsea hydrocarbon processing.
Framo has developed a range of products and services that substantially increase hydrocarbon production including fluids separation, boosting and reinjection. The company is a manufacturer of high-pressure swivel products for floating production storage and offloading vessels, as well as products for repair of pipelines and subsea connectors.
Framo Engineering will continue to provide their solutions to the market on a nonexclusive basis. Combining the Framo Engineering subsea modules and building blocks with the downhole equipment and reservoir knowledge of Schlumberger will bring a new dimension to the market. In this way the best technical solution may be selected, integrated and operated as a total system to optimize reservoir recovery.
