Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, has signed an agreement under which Siderca will lease Algoma's seamless steel pipe manufacturing facilities, establishing Algoma Seamless Tubular, Inc.

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, has signed an agreement under which Siderca will lease Algoma's seamless steel pipe manufacturing facilities, establishing Algoma Seamless Tubular, Inc.

The facilities produce seamless steel pipe from 2 to 7 inches, used mainly in the oil industry.

This company becomes a fully-owned subsidiary of the DST Group, strategic global alliance, integrated by important producers of seamless steel pipe: Dalmine from Italy, Siderca from Argentina, Tamsa from Mexico, and Tavsa from Venezuela. NKKTUBES from Japan will join the alliance shortly.

The president of Algoma Seamless Tubular, Inc. is German Cura. Jorge Mitre is operations director and Tom Behanick is commercial director.

Orion Refining Corp.,

Norco, La,, has named Clark Johnson president and chief executive officer.

Johnson joins Orion following eight years as president and CEO of Frontier Refining & Marketing, Inc. His industry experience includes more than 30 years in refining and marketing.

Orion Refining Corp. operates a state-of-the-art refinery in Norco, La., near New Orleans. The facility is capable of processing 155,000 barrels per day of heavy, sour crude oil into quality finished products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, and LPGs.

UTSI International Corp.,

Houston, Tex., has opened a branch office in Madrid, Spain. UTSI, a SCADA systems engineering, telecommunications network management, and software development company, has established a successful practice within the refined products and gas pipeline industry in Spain. The company's new office will serve as a regional center of support to the numerous hydrocarbon transmission and distribution companies, electric utility companies, and telecommunications companies in the European Union.

UTSI International Corp. is a software development and consulting firm with its principal business focus in the oil and gas pipeline and telecommunications industries. UTSI's expertise in these industries encompasses Network Management and Control Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), and related specialized applications. UTSI offers its clients the option of complete control system outsourcing, providing an economical and low risk implementation of mission critical systems. UTSI is also a developer of Internet based software interfaces for corporate wide Information Technology (IT) solutions.

New Dominion, L.L.C.,

Stillwater, Okla., has named David B. Roberts senior vice president-engineering. He will provide technical leadership within the engineering domain as well as directing and developing the drilling, equipping, completion, and stimulation of wells drilled by the company.

Prior to joining New Dominion, L.L.C., Roberts was production engineering manager with Apache Corp. in Tulsa and had held a progression of reservoir, acquisition, and production engineering positions with Apache Corp. and ORYX Energy.

Energy Logistics, Inc.,

Houston, Tex., has named Eric W. Smith director of business development.

Smith will be responsible for expanding ELI's business to include all supply chain management and procurement functions while building on ELI's existing shorebase and marine transport businesses, and he will continue the development of ELI's information systems including LSS.

Hunting PLC,

London, England, has named Dennis Proctor chief executive of Hunting Oilfield Services International, Houston, Tex. Proctor has served the company as director since 1993 and will continue to be based in Houston.

Hunting Oilfield Services is a provider of complete tubular systems and services for oil and gas exploration and production, offering the total supply chain from planning to well completion, its PATHWAYRegistered Program. The company has major manufacturing operations in Canada, China, Louisiana, Netherlands, Scotland, Singapore, Texas and Venezuela, plus regional sales-service centers and 50 additional service partners worldwide. The parent company, Hunting PLC, provides engineering, products, and services to the oil and defense industries.

Simulation Sciences Inc., (SIMSCI),

Brea, Calif., has named John Olson vice president of marketing. Based at SIMSCI's Calif. headquarters, Olson will be responsible for driving SIMSCI's product and marketing communications efforts.

Olson's executive management experience includes over 26 years in strategy market development, business solution definition, customer relationship development and target market and channel identification, and 19 specifically in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, he served as director of oil and gas marketing of Honeywell IAC.

Moody International, Inc.,

Houston, Tex., has named David Prince business development manager of their newly expanded Plant Services Division. Prince has over 17 years of experience in the inspection service industry in positions as technical manager, director of sales & marketing, vice president and chief operating officer for such noted companies as Lucius Pitkin, Mesa Technical Services and most recently PetroChem Inspection Services.

The Plant Services Division offers turnaround inspection, mechanical integrity, corrosion monitoring, risk based inspection, and inspection staff secondment services for refining, petrochemical and the gas process industries.
